Halfway through high school I knew that I wanted to work with cameras but in what way, I hadn’t worked out yet. Towards the end of high school I realised that I wanted to work with cinema cameras, I wanted to become a cinematographer.

The cinematographer’s role is the one where the art meets technology. To be a good cinematographer you need to stay up to date on all the tools of the trade, as well as being knowledgeable on the well established techniques of the past.

Red cameras in the industry,

Vlog episode 1 of 3

So as you can see from my vlog on the Red cameras they are a smaller and more portable replacement camera to the traditional cameras used in the industry. They have a relatively lower cost and produce exceptional quality.

ARRI in the industry,

Vlog episode 2 of 3

As you can see from my vlog, Arri knows how to deliver and is a reliable company. I believe that the reliability and the intuitiveness of the Alexa camera combined with the fact that it has great performance in different conditions is the driving force behind why cinematographers are choosing to work with it.

Blackmagic in the industry,

Vlog episode 3 of 3

What can I say, the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema line of cameras provide cinematographers with the ability to take the audience right into the thick of the action, without compromising quality and they provide the cameras at a reasonable price. Combine this with the fabulous DaVinci Resolve software and this combo is unbeatable.

I hope you enjoyed my series of vlogs.
